MaaS report published by UNECE

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) recently published a MaaS report. Readers are provided with a clear overview and a better understanding of the general concept, objectives, actors and different business models. Stefanie, Head of Marketing and Communications at Fluidtime and one of the main authors of this report, was responsible for the second chapter, which focuses on MaaS platforms as digital MaaS enablers. Two of our case studies, UbiGo in Stockholm and Aarhus in Denmark, show the different ways of using a digital mobility platform to implement MaaS under real-world conditions. The complete MaaS report is online free available and can be downloaded here.

Acitvities of UNECE

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (also known as UNECE) is one of the five United Nations regional commissions, administered by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It was established in 1947. Its mission is to help rebuild post-war Europe, develop economic activity and strengthen economic relations among European countries, and between Europe and the rest of the world. Since the early 1990s the organization has focused on analyses of the transition process. The commission is using its harmonization experience to facilitate the integration of central and eastern European countries into global markets. UNECE is the forum where the countries of western, central and eastern Europe, Central Asia and North America come together to forge the tools of their cooperation. The Commission offers a regional framework for the elaboration and harmonization of conventions, norms and standards. Commission experts provide technical assistance to the countries of South-East Europe and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). This assistance takes the form of advisory services, training seminars and workshops where countries can share their experiences and best practices.
