Inspirational talks and Panel discussions

In each session we bring international thought leaders, experts and opinion makers onto the stage to inspire you with their presentations or to shed light on critical thoughts and ideas in exciting discussion rounds.

Ecosystems and their MaaS Ambassadors

Are you looking for a solution to problems and challenges in your ecosystem? Don’t you know how to get started with MaaS? Are you facing a challenge in your ecosystem where you need ideas or tips from similarly structured cities or regions? At the fifth Fluidtime Symposium we will work together to find solutions. The cities and regions presented by the participating ecosystems serve as a basis for the different workshops.

Selected MaaS Ambassadors support all participants with their expertise in fulfilling their tasks. The Fluidtime Symposium 2020 is about the cooperation of each player in the ecosystem to create better mobility together.

City wanted!

Your city or region is not listed yet? Then become MaaS Ambassador! Strengthen and expand your network in the ecosystem, exchange information with important stakeholders and benefit from newly acquired practical knowledge.

At the moment the MaaS market in rural Scotland is very much on the move, so Jenny and other participants from her ecosystem will focus on MaaS for rural areas.

Jenny Milne | Researcher on Rural MaaS and owner of JLM

MaaS Ambassador of the Scottish ecosystem

“To make MaaS projects more efficient, we need to convince people that it is in their best interest to use MaaS. We therefore need to work closely with user groups in the projects, they need incentives and they need an ambitious marketing plan!”

Laurent Chevereau | Study Director “Mobility Service – MaaS” | CEREMA

MaaS Ambassador of the French ecosystem

“With MaaS we have the opportunity to design an environmentally friendly and inclusive overall transport system together with municipalities, regions and countries.”

Lina Mosshammer | Business Unit Mobility Innovation | AustriaTech

MaaS Ambassador of the ecosystem Vienna | Austria

“With the development of MaaS the mobility market and division of roles is firmly been shaken up. This presents new challenges for public authorities in how to secure public goals and interests like social inclusion, environmental issues, safety, use of space and accessibility of cities and regions.”

Jacky Lodewijks | Senior Advisor | Forseti

MaaS Ambassador of the Dutch ecosystem

Volker Amann will come from Vorarlberg with a country delegation and support the ecosystem in developing ideas and concepts for rural MaaS.

Volker Amann | CEO and Founder | AVIMO Consulting

Arnd will support the Swiss delegation in developing ideas and concepts for intelligent mobility solutions tailored to the needs and mobility behaviour of the Swiss.

Arnd Bätzner | Board of Directors | Mobility Cooperative

MaaS Ambassador of the ecosystem Bern, Switzerland

Nicoletta will represent Malta at the Fluidtime Symposium as MaaS Ambassador. Together with a delegation from the island, she will develop innovative ideas and concepts.

Mastering the Balance between collaboration and competition

To be successful in the MaaS world often means opening up to new markets and facing challenges. Players once competing against each other frequently need to collaborate on the dynamic and demanding mobility landscape. So where are the boundaries between competition and collaboration? Who writes the rules? And more importantly, does collaboration kill or strengthen innovation?

The Fluidtime Symposium 2020 takes a closer look at this fragile balancing act:

  • two exclusive days for partners of the MaaS ecosystem
  • insights into the development and improvement of solutions for real urban and regional problems
  • an innovative and inspiring setting
Fluidtime Symposium - get active at the workshops
Fluidtime Symposium - place for deep discussions

Fluidtime Symposium 2020 – the program

The programme is structured in four sessions, over two days. The first three sessions begin with an inspiring keynote followed by a panel discussion with experts. Practical workshops will then take place in which MaaS concepts will be developed for one focus topic at a time. After each workshop, the participants vote on the best concepts to be presented in the last session on Friday.

    Welcome | Check-in | Breakfast

  • 09:30 – 10:00

Welcoming Speech by Michael Kieslinger, CEO of Fluidtime

  • 10:00 – 14:10

Session 1: Framing a MaaS ecosystem

In the first session we follow a three-step approach: First we look at the problems and visions of the city. Then we examine in detail which mobility actors are already active in the city. We will also examine whether these are sufficient to “run” a MaaS ecosystem or whether additional actors are needed. Finally, we will visualize the relationships between stakeholders within an ecosystem.

  • 14:10 – 15:20

Time for lunch and of course intensive conversations!

  • 15:20 – 19:30

    Session 2: Creating value flows

Here we will analyse which cooperation ties within an ecosystem are needed for MaaS to function. The outcome will be a visualisation of flows of money, values, data and knowledge. It will be examined in what cases competition is vital to improve MaaS and where it is an obstacle.

  • 19:30 – 22:30

After Work | Austrian Wine tasting | Dinner on site

8 May 2020

  • 08:30 – 09:00

    Welcome | Check-in | Breakfast

  • 09:00 – 13:10

    Session 3: Empowering the transition

Does the previously established ecosystem form a solid basis for the transition to carbon neutrality? How is this transition going to change these relationships? The results of this session will be concrete policies and projects that will support reaching the city’s ambitious goals.

  • 13:10 – 14:00

Time for lunch and of course intensive conversations!

  • 14:15 – 16:00

    Session 4: Winning ecosystems

After each sessions the participants vote for the best practices. To ensure knowledge transfer, the ecosystems will be able present their concepts and lessons learnt in this session. In addition, we will use the time for discussions and feedback on the workshops.

  • 16:00 – 17:00
